Los CFDA Fashion Awards 2012, pueden ser divididos en dos listas: la de los diseñadores ganadores y la de las fabulosas chicas que, por esa noche, fungen como musas de los nombres más importantes de la moda americana. Este año, el Council of Fashion Designers of America cumplió 50 años y los celebró con el comediante Seth Mayers como anfitrión de la ceremonia – quien abrió la premiación con un vestido de encaje, que emuló al que usó Marc Jacobs en la gala del MET– y reconociendo a Rei Kawakubo de Comme des Garçons con el International Award, así como a Tommy Hilfiger por su aportación a la industria.

Diseñador femenino del año: Ashley y Mary-Kate Olsen de The Row.
Diseñador masculino del año: William Reid
Diseñador de accesorios del año: Reed Krakoff
