Después de días de constantes rumores sobre la salida de Stefano Pilati de Yves Saint Laurent, los cuales salieron a la luz durante la semana de la moda de Milán, Francois Henri Pinault, presidente de PPR, confirmó la entrada de Hedi Slimane como director creativo de la casa.
Los comentarios sobre la salida de Pilati, quien fuera cabeza creativa de la casa desde 2004, no eran algo nuevo. De hecho, fue desde el invierno de 2010 que se hablaba que el grupo PPR, dueño de la marca, estaba en búsqueda de un nuevo director que refrescara a la firma.
Tomando en cuenta la razón que motivó esta decisión, nos encantó la elección. Slimane viene de un descanso de cinco años, tras su salida de Dior Homme, durante los cuales se dedicó a perfeccionar otra de sus pasiones, la fotografía. El estilo que lo hizo famoso en sus tiempos en Yves Saint Laurent (1999) y Dior (2007), es inconfundible: siluetas limpias, cortes vanguardistas muy usables, con influencia gótica, que no podemos esperar para en ver traducidos en su versión femenina.
